A quick revisit of Paramore's 'After Laughter'

Image
After Laughter (2017) (My favourite album of theirs!) Paramore's fifth studio album, "After Laughter," released in 2017, stands as a testament to the band's resilience and evolution. Diverging from their usual pop-punk roots, the album embraced a vibrant new wave and synth-pop sound, reflecting the band's growth and maturity. Frontwoman Hayley Williams' introspective lyrics resonate throughout the record, exploring themes of mental health, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships. The juxtaposition of the upbeat melodies with poignant lyrics creates a musical landscape that is both infectious and emotionally resonant. The critical acclaim and commercial success of "After Laughter" were undeniable. The album earned Paramore a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album and spawned hits like "Hard Times" and "Told You So." Fans and critics alike praised the band's bold sonic departure and applauded their ability to st...

Metric (from left to right) - James Shaw, Joules Scott-Key, Emily Haines, Joshua Winstead It was just a regular evening when I discovered their 2009 hit "Help I'm Alive" from their 4th album Fantasies through a blessing of a YouTube video recommendation - the butterfly used for the single really made me click, listening to this track I was instan...
